lack of art

Fri Nov 20, 2009, 9:04 PM
Sorry for the lack of new art. Firstly, i've had a horrible art block for a few months now where everything i try to draw comes out horribly wrong. Then on top of that, i've been spending most of my time on Christmas gift crafts and studying for the JLPT in December. But, hopefully there will be new art in the new year. i'll just keep trying and the block will go away at some point. It always has in the past.

About me huh? OK... um it sounds bad to say i'm an antisocial loner without explaining why so here it is:

Starting with the part that sounds worst... i'm not capable of being around groups of people for extended periods of time. Social groups are like ice cream. Some people don't like it at all. Some love it so much that they could have it for every meal. i'm the one that likes it but can only have so much before starting to feel odd. The whole "too much of a good thing" deal.

Now here's a more logical reason: i like arts and crafts and go crazy when not working on projects. Projects take a lot of alone time to complete hence the antisocial loner thing.

And another reason is that i don't go for the idea of "social networking"... It's really just a lot of people getting to know others so they can have connections in life. i'd rather get to know people because i just want to know them or like them for whatever reason(s).

Concerts are great though :D. i can still be productive while waiting for a concert. It doesn't demand complete attention to the social aspect. Granted i did meet some very good friends at concerts but that's what they are to me. Friends. People i like for who they are, not as part of a social network.

Other than that, i'm a bit of an idealist and a lot more of a helpless romantic than people (or sometimes even i) think. But i'm also realistic. While i love the ideals, it's just not something society is really capable of since it needs to start at an individual level and people will only really change if THEY want to. (plus ideals are something that belong to individuals, everyones are different.)

It would be nice if people would help others even complete strangers and do random kind things for their friends and family. It doesn't need to be a holiday to pick up something special for a friend or loved one. And loved ones should know they’re loved to the point where it isn't necessary to give gifts for holidays.

Well this thing could ramble on for days but maybe it’s best to just end it here O_o.
